RAIZS Project in the news
Thank you to the city hall of Juvisy-sur-Orge, to write about our solidarity initiative to promote the art of Mexican communities.
An emancipation project in the Sierra de Zongolica
On December 18, 2016, RAIZS Artisanat Equitable participated in the Mexican-Latin Fiesta of Navidad which took place at the restaurant El Diablito Latino in the 11th district in Paris. This event, organized by the group "Amigas Latinas", was in support of the collective "Women weavers of the Sierra de Zongolica" in the state of Veracruz in Mexico, to support them in the path towards their socio-economic emancipation, As well as to contribute to perpetuate their know-how in the textile art of this region where the Nahuas (indigenous group) predominate.
This donation made it possible to buy 1.3 kg of a natural dye known as "añil" (indigo) which is very expensive and which will serve to naturally color the woolen pieces that they make throughout the year. Many thanks to all our supporters of development through art.
Festival BCN VIVE MEXICO 2017
