Community of San Juan Chamula, Chiapas, Mexico.
The city of San Juan Chamula is located in the state of Chiapas in Mexico. The Tzotzil ethnic group inhabits the city. The church of the city is a very special place whose interior is strictly forbidden to photograph. The temple architecture is colonial in style, there are no benches to sit, because people pray on their knees, thus creating a special atmosphere mixed with evangelization of the XVI century and prehispanic religious beliefs . The church is decorated with many candles of different sizes and colors and images of the saints, who hung mirrors, because of the belief that these serve to reflect evil.
