NIKAN is a word of origin nahuatl language meaning "here", referring to the presence of Mexico in particular, in the mark means that “Mexico is here."
It is a company dedicated to culture and to raise awareness of the world with Mexican creative elements handmade. We seek to encourage the socio-economic development of our craftsmen, creating productive projects that help their economy and social protection according to fair trade standards and promote their work. Our products evoke the nostalgia of memories and cultural identity.
They look for the person who acquires their products share an experience with Mexico through crafts. Nikan Mexico promotes Mexican culture, promotes value to the work of the artisan, dignity and fair trade. “Our artisans belong to indigenous communities, far from urban areas, are men and women who seek every day to bring food for their families” like for example Marcelina native of the State of Querétaro, which is developing the mini pinatas. A few years ago she came with her husband and her children to work in the city of Acuña Coahuila, in the search of better opportunities dedicated to the sale of various crafts. Her husband died recently and she is now the main sustenance of their 5 children.
We also have the experience of don Erasmo of Jalisco which produces charro hats, Mrs. Esmeralda de Saltillo, Coahuila which produces the colored "sarapes" developed in loom and Leticia of Oaxaca, Mexico, which produces beautiful "Alebrijes".
Welcome! Thanks a lot for the promotion of a sustainable Mexican art.
